Montgomery County Newborn: Baby M’s arrival! {Hello World}

You all met Michele when I posted about her here and here.  Michele, myself and our children meet practically every Monday at her home for a weekly play date. This week we spiced it up a bit and headed to McDonald’s. Michele was scheduled for a c-section on July 22 and she and I both joked that she wouldn’t make it that long. I had predicted July 14th. She predicted somewhere in between then and July 22nd. Neither of us predicted the very next day! Michele had shared that she was feeling some contractions while at good ole McDs, but I had no clue that by the same time the very next day I’d be getting a text that sir Michael would be here!

It was my first time visiting Lankenau Hospital and the facilities were quite lovely. Michele had previously delivered her micr-premie twins there almost 4 years ago, so she knows the facility well. While I was there some of the staff visited her from her previous extended stay. How wonderful is that!!?!  I arrived shortly after Michele’s husband had brought in the twins to meet their newest sibling. I was also able to share the visit with Peter’s parents as well. It was great capturing everyone’s reaction to the true love of a new baby.

Because of Michele’s c-section and magnesium sulfate treatment someone had to be in the room with her and the baby for the first 24 hours post birth. Peter had taken home the twins and his parents had left as well. Who was I to deny a new mom the company of her own child?! So this “session” lasted a bit longer than the norm as I sat and chatted with Michele until her friends arrived later to cover the timeframe until Peter could return.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this little guy for our posed newborn session. I’ve been eagerly awaiting his arrival like he’s one of my own!
