Life is Sweet Hershey Pa {Maternity Share}

I completely forgot to share a blog post sharing the pictures from Jena and Troy’s maternity session! I shot these on the grounds of the Milton Hershey School in July on my way home from my little sister’s baby shower. … Continue reading
Light Inspired {Little Boy Blog Circle} Personal Share
Welcome to this week’s Light Inspired {Little Boy} Blog Circle. Make sure you follow the circle all the way around to see the great work of my friends featuring their Little Boys!
I was hoping to fill this post up with pictures of my DrewBug and Big Time walking down the aisle, dressed to the nines as ring bearers in their Uncle Daniel and Aunt Justine’s wedding. Well… they performed their job that day, andl I guess I performed as my role as mom (and ring bearer chaser) but I didn’t get to take a single picture with my “big camera” last Saturday! (I do have a few cell shots I can share if you beg 😉 )
So instead I’m going to fill this post with triple cuteness, instead of my normal double cuteness.
Because of the wedding my husband’s cousin was in town with his wife and their 18 month old son. I really wanted to photograph them and the rest of their family while they were in town from California. We set up a date and a place a few months ago and I prayed that the weather would hold out because when they come visit their schedule is packed tight!
Well the session was the first Sunday in August, which around these parts is typically 95 and humid. But somehow we managed to fix perfect weather and topped out around 85 with no humidity! We met at my absolute favorite location on this Earth. A small old historical meetinghouse that my church meets at once a year in the summer. It’s tucked in the middle of farmland in Montgomery County near the Lehigh County border. When you head down the hill past the meetinghouse you’re met by a beautiful creek, and bridge which leads to another road that hosts the former church “picnic grove”. This picnic grove holds near and dear to my heart, and to my husband’s cousin. It’s here that he did his Eagle Scout project repairing the grove and walking bridge.
So photographing my family here was something special. I had arranged for my husband to bring my two boys to this family session after about an hour of shooting the family session.
We had previously arranged to put the three great grandchildren in matching outfits (because to be honest how long are we going to get away with that!) Then I had a special treat in store for the boys. I had brought overalls for all three of them and packed some watermelon; inspired by a friend who had done a similar session with her sons, So we did our “serious” shots first and then let the boys have at it. Well of course watermelon is messy…….. so what’s a boy to do but wash it off in a creek!
Don’t forget to follow the blog circle all the way around! Next stop is my talented friend Cara of Towson, MD. She’s a Family and Newborn Photographer only about an hour from where I grew up! Check her Little Boy Light Inspired post here! As well as her business FB page here.
